Day 15

Could not bring myself to weigh in today... but went to the doctor and in full dress with coat I was over 260... My guess is I'm around 252. I am back on track today but I will take 3 or 4 days to get back to where I was.

Good news is that the pain is gone and the doctor today said there was nothing wrong... no hernia or anything else. Seems it was just an inflammation unrelated to diet.

Epic Fail today...
Did not feel well... ate everything in the house... twice...
I will start back up Monday with diligence. I'm sure I'm up 5 pounds by now.

oops... up a half... not trending well.
My pain has gotten severe... went to the doctor today. He says it is not GI related, there is no fever or infection, no blockages or anything pointing to diet. That rules out diverticulitis... yay... I can still have my almonds!
Still not sure what it is... he thinks it could be a high groin pull or even a hernia though he couldn't tell himself. I am seeing a specialist on Monday. In the meantime... muscle relaxer and inflammation reducer.

Odd day... no weight loss today. My pain is still there... diverticulitis...
The almonds that I added into my eating apparently combined with the low fiber diet has really caused some inflammation. I have gone on antibiotics and will eliminate the nuts. Drinking LOTS more water and adding fiber tablets to the diet.

As you can see I did a little 'feel sorry for myself' eating today... really just wanted enough in my system to handle the antibiotics i am taking... at least that's my excuse.

Less tender this morning... but still some pain. Hoping this will subside today. No idea whether this has anything at all to do with the diet or not. I do think it is related to not drinking any water on Saturday when I worked all day. Another possibility is that I added almonds to my diet on Saturday and they really aren't on the diet. They may have contributed. I'm going to cut back on those.

Today has been a bit harder... not because I'm hungry, but because I think I dehydrated over the weekend a bit much and I've been constipated... very inflamed in my lower abdomen. I have gotten relief from that but my lower intestines are still tender... not to the touch but like when you've pulled a muscle or something. I am drinking LOTS more water now... 2 to 3 liters.

Only half a pound a day the last 2 days... but I have drank inadequate amounts of water and I have eaten more sporadically.

Drank LOTS of water this afternoon and evening trying to rehydrate. Probably drank 4 liters or more today.

 Exhausting day... did not drink nearly enough today and am a bit dehydrated.
ate meat only at fall carnival. Not the best day for staying on target but feel good and not hungry.

Day 1... and they're off

Today starts the challenge...

The HCG diet actually has 2 days at the front end called 'load up' days in which you eat high fat while on the HCG drops. This apparently cranks your metabolism up before you start starving your body. So, I started the drops 2 days ago and have already done the load up. This means that today I am actually a little heavier than I was even 3 days ago. This will come off fast... and I am inclined to ignore it in the 30 lbs count... but I don't have a good way to do so... so we will start with today's weight.

I will post 2 numbers for the weight... the first is my morning at home weight. The 2nd in (parenthesis) is my weight at work with clothes (no shoes).

I took measurements this morning... embarassing... but we will use that for reference.

Ready, Set, Go...

My name is Duke Lancaster... I am 50 years old... currently around 255 pounds.
I was up over 300 pounds in 2008 and in 2011 started to aggressively lose weight using HCG. I lost almost 70 pounds in about 8 months. I have since put 25 pounds back on.

I am going to try to get rid of those 25 + 5 more pounds... and I am challenging myself to do it in 30 days. I know what you're thinking, its too fast... its not healthy... I concede you may be right... but this is how it came off last year and I know for certain that it can be done and I will feel great in the process. So... this is the plan.

I will post each day exactly what I eat and how much exercise I get. I am wearing a digital pedometer and I will log every step.

Beginning on Monday, 10/22/12, I will post key measurements... mainly waist and tummy measurements. Also, for reference, I will take blood pressure readings each week. I have been borderline but no meds. Cholesterol for me has never been an issue... recently had it tested and came in at 125.

I will be taking HCG drops from www.officialHCGDietPlan.com and will maintain a diet of somewhere around 500 calories per DAY!.
